ISOCON-JBL International Limited is an innovative project that brought together two entities JLB International Ltd and ISOCON Engineering to develop an ISO-standard “food-grade” facility for the leasing, storage, repairing, cleaning, calibration and testing of ISO-Tank Containers in Kingston, Jamaica. The facility is the first of its kind in the Caribbean region and one of the few operating in the Western Hemisphere. Food-grade tank containers are used for the maritime transportation of liquid foods in bulk. In the case of Jamaica, they are mainly used for the export of rum to distilleries in Europe, Brazil and far east. Approximately 85% of Jamaican rum is exported using this type of containers. The ISOCON-JLB International Ltd facility will improve the turnover ratios of the tanks’ inventories and reduce the transportation cost, therefore promoting the use of this facility as a regional hub by the tank owners.
