Setting Up In Jamaica

The Jamaica Special Economic Zone Authority (JSEZA) welcomes and encourages entrepreneurship through partnership with you on your business journey in Jamaica.

JSEZA will work with you to get your SEZ business up and running. Here’s what you need to know:

To establish your business, follow these steps

Does Your Company Qualify?

As long as your company is not in the following industries, you are welcome to operate within an SEZ:

  • Extractive industries.
  • Tourism.
  • Telecommunication.
  • Public utilities (except generation of electricity for personal use or resale to national provider).
  • Financial services regulated by the Bank of Jamaica or the Financial Services Commission.
  • Construction services, unless as part of a manufacturing process within a Zone.
  • Real estate.
  • Health services, excluding research and development.

If so, let us know the following

  • The intended activities of your zone company.
  • How much staff you want to place in Jamaica.
  • The amount of office space you need.
  • Your technology needs.

Let us help you register your business

  • We introduce you to a Companies Office of Jamaica representative to set up a Special Economic Zone Company for you.
  • You complete the online application, provide certain paperwork and we submit your application to the Special Economic Zone Authority.
  • Your application can be approved within days and then multiple year Work/Residency visas for your staff can also be obtained within days.
