Vetting Specialist SEG 1

To successfully conduct investigations and safety and security audits on SEZ applicants being considered by the Authority and existing SEZ clients for the purposes of assuring compliance with the SEZ Regime.

We invite all suitably qualified candidates to apply for the post of Vetting Specialist SEG 1.

Remuneration: $2,735,387-$3,678,791 per annum and any allowances attached to the post.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary training from a recognized institution or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum four (4) years related experience
  • Sound experience in investigative processes
  • Experience in dealing with matters of a confidential nature
  • Knowledge of Customs procedures
  • Knowledge of security procedures
  • Occupational Safety and Health policy, legislation, and procedures

Specific Knowledge and Skills

  • Skilled in established and evolving investigative processes
  • Skilled in the use of typical office productivity software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills
  • Skill in the use of the Authority’s Case Management Application and associated reporting tools

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To conduct high quality vetting investigations of applicants, meeting, or exceeding expectations 
  • Conduct investigations as assigned by the Manager
  • Use sound judgement in removing impediments that may arise as part of v investigations and or audits
  • Plan and organize investigations
  • Prepare and present progress updates in agreed formats using enterprise data available in the Authority’s case management application
  1. To promote a culture of professionalism, ethics, and integrity within the Authority 
    • Ensure that vetting best practices and vetting protocols and SOPs established by the Authority are applied in the conduct of all investigations and audits
    • Establish, document, and communicate a clear investigation and or audit plan of action  for each case being managed
  1. Ensure effective security for the authority’s personnel and facilities 
    • Participate in the maintenance of a log of on-the-job travel/movement plans of personnel
    • Participate in the rostering personal security team members to ensure that the needs of the Authority are adequately met
    • Act as liaison with line staff on security matters.
    • Help develop communication to all line staff, and by the most effective media, security matters and lessons to be learnt.
  1. Ensure Authority and Client compliance
    • Monitoring of Client Execution of Safety and security Plans
    • Monitor the investigation of safety and security incidents and accidents
    • Participate in the development and execution of Safety and security Policies to cover the operations of the Authority.
    • Determine risks associated with client’s compliance to the SEZ regime of the Authority and ensure its alignment with the existing Quality Management Systems Policy
    • Prevent, or reduce undesired effects of the existing Quality Management System of the Authority.
